Welcome to the Idaho Association of Assessment Personnel!!!

Celebrating 35 Years of Excellence

The Idaho Association of Assessment Personnel (IAAP) was founded in 1989 by a group of county Personal Property appraisers and appraisers from the Idaho State Tax Commission.  Originally founded as an instrument to facilitate communication among Business Personal Property Appraisers, the organization quickly transitioned into an all-specialty appraisal organization known as the Idaho Association of Assessment Personnel.

The intent of this organization was clear, to provide means of communication, education, and dissemination of information to facilitate uniform appraisal and assessment.  One of the first tools of the trade came in the form of a quarterly newsletter, which was launched shortly after the creation of the organization.  This newsletter was written by officers of the organization, along with other contributing authors to encourage discussion of current issues and events relevant to ad-valorem appraisers across the State of Idaho.

Over the years the organization has grown dramatically with members spanning every corner of the state.  While early tools such as the quarterly newsletter are still providing means of educating appraisers across the state, the IAAP has developed and offered appraisal courses through the years, on an as-needed basis for appraisers.  Continuing on its tradition of excellence the IAAP has continued develop tools of the trade to meet its organizational mission.  New implementations such as the organization's website and hosted Idaho Appraisal Forum provide exciting opportunities for the advancement of our organization and our profession as a whole.

This year, the Idaho Association of Assessment Personnel has celebrated over three decades of providing support to appraisers statewide.  With the organization growing to over 300 active members from nearly every jurisdiction in the State of Idaho, the future appears bright for the IAAP.  As we develop and implement new educational programs, communications, and networking tools, we are excited to see what the future will bring for our organization and its members.  It is imperative that we continue to strive to develop and provide services for all appraisers across the state and never lose focus of our organization's goals.
